Wharton-l is your best source for timely information about the Wharton Society and its activities. It is also a list for questions and discussion of Wharton’s works.
Wharton-l now has a web-based interface, so that you don’t have to remember how to subscribe and unsubscribe; just click on the links below to change options.
Having a moderated list means that no spam will get through to your e-mail box. Also, the archives will be available only to subscribers, so you need not worry about spammers getting your e-mail address from the archives or your responses to the list showing up on Google.
You do not need to be a member of the Wharton Society to join wharton-l.

If you find you are not getting any messages, check your spam filter or junkmail file. Many spam filters automatically discard any mail from an e-mail list, even if you have signed up for the list.
Replies are sent to the wharton-l list by default. If you wish to send a reply to an individual rather than to the list, please check the TO: line in your response to be sure that you have the correct recipient.
Subscribe and unsubscribe. To unsubscribe from the list, please do not send a message to wharton-l. Instead, click on the link above and use the Unsubscribe function at the bottom of the page.
E-mail safety. Although the list lis moderated and the chances are slim that any dangerous emails would slip through, use good email practices when reading messages: don’t click on suspicious links or open attachments unless the purpose is clearly indicated in the message. Suspicious links include those that say your account is over its limit and will be closed, “look at this!” and so on. If your email account is hacked and you can’t unsubscribe, please let me know (email@example.com) so that I can unsubscribe you.
Autoresponse. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time and plan to set an autoresponse (such as “I will be out of the office until August 31”) in your email program, please use the link above to unsubscribe and resubscribe when you return to prevent these automated response messages from clogging the listserv’s mailbox.
You can always catch up on messages by reading the archives when you return. Repeated autoresponse messages bounced to the moderator may cause your email address to be unsubscribed from the list.
Messages. Substantive scholarly messages such as questions, calls for papers, announcements, and replies are posted to the list. Responses that simply say “me too!” or “thanks!” should be sent to individual correspondents rather than to the list.
Listserv etiquette. If you ask for suggestions for a course or reading list, it is a courtesy to others to collect and post the responses you receive to the list.
Attachments. If you have an announcement, please write it in the body of the message. Please do not send attachments, since the listserv software may delete them. Announcements that consist only of attachments and a “please forward” message are deleted unread.
The wharton-l listserv is moderated. It may take some time for your message to be sent to the list.
